Community benefits
We believe that the communities closest to Fosse Green Energy should benefit from it, and we are grateful for your feedback on how we could extend the benefits of our project.
Our response to this feedback, and how we’ve had regard to each suggestion for community benefits, can be found in our consultation report appendices.
We are also proposing a community benefit fund, which we plan to deliver in cooperation with local community foundations and North Kesteven District Council to benefit causes important to the local community. The community benefits delivered us will provide a sum of £400 per megawatt (MW) of export capacity, per year, in line with the solar industry and guidance.
In line with feedback received, we are exploring ways to provide local benefits from the Proposed Development, including funding towards improvements to existing community facilities (such as village halls and sports facilities), provision of electrical vehicle charging points, subsidised solar PV panels for community use and lower cost energy, grants for broadband and wider improvements, educational visits and wider education/apprenticeship opportunities.

Community Liaison Group
We held our first Community Liaison Group (CLG) meeting on 28 April 2025 with local Parish Councils and District Councillors.
The CLG was timed to keep conversations going between FGE and the wider community following the statutory consultation on the project in late 2024 and in advance of its submission of a Development Consent Order (DCO) application to the Planning Inspectorate (PINS) in July 2025.
Topics discussed included changes to the project design, community benefits, construction, site operation, and traffic. Minutes of the meeting can be found on our website here.
We intend for the CLG to run throughout the planning and construction process. The next CLG is planned for Autumn 2025 and looks to discuss the DCO and examination processes.
